Luke Hedley

British Blind Sport is delighted to announce that we have recently appointed Luke Hedley as our incoming Head of Sport Development next month.

Luke brings years of experience within the sport and physical activity sector having spent five years with Birmingham Vision before moving to Sport Birmingham. His most recent role was as Health and Wellbeing Manager at the Aston Villa Foundation.

Luke will oversee our Sport Development team and delivery, and work with partners across the UK to identify challenges, gaps and opportunities.

Ahead of starting his new role, Luke said: "I'm extremely excited to be joining British Blind Sport as the Head of Sport Development. Having worked in the sight loss sector previously, I am all too aware of the power that sport and physical activity can have on an individual, whether that be physically or mentally. I plan on using my experience in the sector to build effective relationships with key organisations and partners to bring about an increase in participation levels for people living with sight loss."

British Blind Sport CEO, Alaina MacGregor, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Luke Hedley to our team as the new Head of Sport Development. His extensive experience in the sector makes him an ideal fit for this role. Luke's passion of increasing participation and improving lives through sport aligns perfectly with our mission. We look forward to the positive impact his leadership will bring to our Sport Development team and to our members."
