Coaching e-learning

Coaches and volunteers play a vital role in developing recreational activities across the country. We want to ensure that they have the knowledge to create an inclusive and accessible sporting environment for people with sight loss.

On this page, you can find all of the help you need to improve and develop your knowledge of adapting activities for blind and partially sighted people. Whether it's adults or children and young people, our resources and e-learning modules will give you the confidence to deliver fantastic, inclusive sessions.

Coaching Blind and Partially Sighted People

Working with UK Coaching, British Blind Sport has created an e-learning course called 'Coaching Blind and Partially Sighted People'. This course raises awareness of the crucial role coaches play in helping people with visual impairments overcome barriers to participate in sport and physical activity. It complements UK Coaching's 'person-centred' principle of great coaching.

Working in partnership with the relevant NGBs, we have started to roll-out sport-specific bolt on modules:

  • Tennis
  • Swimming
  • Goalball
  • Football

These bolt on modules are in addition to the core 'Coaching Blind and Partially Sighted People' course to ensure students are equipped with improved knowledge to support blind and partially sighted participants take part in their chosen sport.
