1. Where can I find out about clubs or activities near me?

British Blind Sport does not deliver any sport sessions directly, however we do run regular free taster sports through our Have a Go Days which are held across the country.

2. How can I find out more about adapted equipment for my sport?

3. How can I find out more about Sight Classification?

Details about our Sight Classification process can be found here. Each Adult Membership includes a free sight classification as part of the membership.

4. How can I become a British Blind Sport member?

To become a member you must first register for an Account on our website. Once registered, if you visit the 'My Memberships' section of your Account you will be able to sign up for a membership.

If you a signing up for a Junior Membership, please first add your Child to your Account once you've signed up.

5. I'm a coach, how do I make my sessions more accessible and inclusive?

To find out more about making your sessions more accessible for participants with a visual impairment, please visit the Training & Research section of our website.

6. I'm a PE teacher, how do I make my classes more accessible and inclusive?

To find out more about making your PE classes more accessible for students who are blind or partially sighted, please visit the Training & Research section of our website.

7. How can I be a guide for an athlete with a visual impairment?

If you are interested in becoming a guide runner, please visit the Find a Guide database which we have worked on in partnership with England Athletics.

To become a guide runner, you will need to:

  • Attend a Sight Loss Awareness and Guide Running Workshop
  • Undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

If you are interested in becoming a Triathlon Guide/Pilot, please visit our Triathlon page for more information.

11. I'm running a sight information event, can you attend?

As a small team, covering the whole of the UK, it can be difficult for us to attend localised sight events. However, please contact us with the details of the event and we will be happy to send you some flyers and resources to share with your delegates.
