Activity Information

The BBS Junior Swimming Festival will bring together participants aged 3-17 years old for a jam packed day of competitive races for our National Youth Swimming Gala, fun races and diving lessons at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, in partnership with Swim England.

The event provides an excellent opportunity for blind and partially sighted young people aged 3 to 17 from all over the UK to participate in fun and competitive activities. Attendees will also be able to meet VI athletes on the para-swimming pathway, who will share their experiences and advice on what it takes to become a competitive swimmer.

This year's BBS Junior Swimming Festival will include the following competitive races as part of the National Youth Swimming Gala:

  • 25/50/100m backstroke
  • 25/50/100m breaststroke
  • 25/50/100m butterfly
  • 25/50/100m freestyle

Fun races to enjoy and participate in will include:

  • The Jangles fun race
  • The float fun race
  • The noodle fun race
  • The Jangles/float/noodle team fun race

Alongside the competitive and fun races, Swim England will be available on the day to host diving and swimming lessons for participants.
