Netball organisations across the Country are committed to the establishment of a safe, fair and inclusive sporting environment and put this at the heart of everything they do. In this Safeguarding role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring this.
You will act as the Regional Safeguarding Lead for Yorkshire and will lead the case management, and the development and implementation of safeguarding and welfare policies and processes within Yorkshire.
The role is perfect for someone with experience or a strong interest in safeguarding case management and who is purpose and value driven to achieve the best for our sport.
As Yorkshire Netball's Safeguarding Lead you will:
- Be aware of England Netball Safeguarding & Disciplinary Regulations, Code of Conducts, Safeguarding, Whistleblowing Policies and Netball Formal Resolution Flowchart
- Respect and promote the spirit and intentions of England Netball's Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball policy
- Be the first point of contact for all safeguarding related concerns at Yorkshire Netball, and ensure that these concerns are appropriately dealt with in a timely manner in accordance with relevant policies and legislation; working with England Netball where relevant.
- Lead the implementation of England Netball policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding and Codes of Conduct across the Region
- Work alongside Yorkshire Netball to ensure that those working in regulated activity in the region are appropriately vetted and outcomes are managed and recorded appropriately.
- Signpost individuals to the appropriate external organisation or local authority where relevant to address their concern if beyond the scope of the organisation
- Keep GDPR compliant records and feedback any relevant information and trends to Yorkshire Netball's Regional Management Board and England Netball Safeguarding & Welfare Manager as required
- Act with professionalism and integrity, and always in the best interests of Netball
The Board meets 4 times per year for Regional Management Board meetings, with informal catch-up meetings in between these to keep momentum.
There may also be an expectation to meet with and work alongside other Regional Safeguarding Leads and England Netball alongside the Yorkshire Netball commitment.
Meetings are a mix of in person where possible, hybrid and more typically online via Zoom. You will need access to email, WhatsApp, phone and Zoom. There is an Annual General Meeting (AGM) annually in December where Board members are elected.
