British Blind Sport and UK Showdown are delighted to announce the newly established showdown clubs across the UK and the creation of the National Showdown League, with support from The Primary Club.
Following a successful application round, British Blind Sport is happy to announce the formation of several clubs including the Coventry Comets, Galloways Society for the Blind, Sight Support Worthing, East of England Showdown Club and The Albion Foundation. These new clubs, along with the existing Sheffield Strikers and Croysutt Warriors clubs, will form the National Showdown League. Three more clubs are to be announced.
Each newly formed club has received a showdown table, a starter kit with all the essential equipment needed to play the sport and will receive training and support for coach and referee development.
BBS and UK Showdown hosted the first national event – a development day – to kick off the National Showdown League.
This development day took place on Saturday, June 29th at King's High School in Warwick. We were delighted to welcome 16 participants from Coventry Comets, Sheffield Strikers, Croysutt Warriors, Sight Support Worthing, and East of England Showdown Club to compete.
The first BBS UK Showdown Championships are:
1st place: Jack Peters (Croysutt Warriors)
2nd place: Jonny Marshall (Croysutt Warriors)
3rd place: Sam Gibbons (Sight Support Worthing)

BBS would like to thank The Primary Club who are funding the development of the National Showdown League over the next two years as well as Birmingham City Council for donating the showdown tables following the IBSA World Games 2023 and UK Sport for the delivery of the tables to the successful clubs. Thanks also to King's High School for hosting the first National Showdown League event.
