British Blind Sport is the National Disability Sport Organisation that supports blind and partially sighted people to get active and play sport.
Job Title: National First Steps Officer
Salary: £24,000 pro rata (0.8 FTE)
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week
Contract Term: 3 years
Based at: British Blind Sport Offices, Leamington Spa

British Blind Sport is delighted to announce the creation of a new role to deliver our successful ‘First Steps’ project across the UK.
Funded by BBC Children in Need, the project’s purpose is to identify 450 children and their families who could benefit from the scheme, all of whom will receive one of our BBS First Steps activity packs. In addition the families will receive support to connect the children into local community activities.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of others. We are confident that the First Steps programme assists visually impaired children to take their first steps into fun physical activity to promote a healthy sporting habit for life.
While the role will be primarily office based, some national travel and some flexibility to working hours may be required to meet the needs of the families. Working from home may be required at times.
