British Blind Sport is excited to announce that they will be exhibiting at Sight Village Central, the UK’s leading sight loss exhibition. The event comes to the West Midlands on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th July 2019.
Each year Sight Village, organised by Queen Alexandra College, brings together hundreds of organisations operating to improve the lives of people living with sight loss in the UK. The exhibition welcomes thousands of people to explore the adaptive products, services and opportunities available to them.
This year at Sight Village Central, British Blind Sport staff will be present to answer any questions about activities for blind and partially sighted people as well as helping people to find their next sporting opportunity. In addition to having a stand at the event, British Blind Sport will be delivering a range of inclusive sport taster sessions including football, goalball, tennis, bowls and hugby - which in an adapted version of rugby.
Tomas Allum, British Blind Sport Communication officer said
“British Blind Sport are opening up more and more positive opportunities for VI people to enjoy being active in the UK. It is important for British Blind Sport to attend events like this to raise awareness of the array of opportunities available for people with visual impairments to get active, play sport or just be sociable and get out in the fresh air! We have always had a fantastic experience at Sight Village Central and are looking forward to be exhibiting at the event again in July, working with local clubs to deliver a range of inclusive sports taster sessions.”
Karen Easthope, Queen Alexandra College said
"We are delighted that British Blind Sport will be offering sports taster sessions at Sight Village Central again this year. These sessions prove to be very popular with visitors and are a great way for people to try out sporting activities and learn more about what is available to them in their area. This year, there is a full schedule of sessions taking place both on the 9th & 10th July and we encourage anyone planning to attend Sight Village to stop by the BBS Sport Village area and speak to one of the sporting experts."
