With current Government advice recommending against non-essential contact and all unnecessary travel, British Blind Sport is joining with Sport England and encouraging our VI service users to #StayInWorkOut. We've teamed up with local deliverers and VI friendly activity providers to bring you a variety of at-home workouts and routines to keep you healthy and active from the comfort of your front room!
If you're looking to get your blood pumping and sweat out the frustrations of the day, then look no further.
We'll be pulling together a selection of high intensity work outs, covering a variety of disciplines and from a range of instructors, to ensure that you can stay fit and healthy from the comfort of your own home
We've been working with inclusive instructors to bring you live, audio-led workouts via Zoom. For more information on our live workouts, visit our Facebook group here: British Blind Sport Stay In Work Out.
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
Up first, we have a 15 minute HIIT workout from Richard at Inclusive Fitness Training! All you need is some energy and a towel of some description (the piece of workout equipment you never knew you had lying around your home!!)
Our next HIIT workout is a Legs, Bums and Tums session! It's a 30 minute workout guaranteed to get your lower body and abs fired up .
Our next HIIT workouts are 25 minute sessions delivered live by Inclusive Fitness Training! The only equipment a couple of these workouts require is a bath or beach towel (even a tea towel will do!) Don't forget some energy and maybe a bottle of water too!
Need to let off some steam?! Why not try a Boxercise class delivered by Able2B! Be prepared to raise a sweat and pump those arms! These workouts are all adaptable for people of any ability and for those who need to remain seated. None of these workouts require any equipment - just a bit of energy and enthusiasm!
If you are looking for more high intensity, cardio based workouts, we are happy to be able to recommend Blind Alive, who specialise in audio-described workouts.
We have an audo-described Cardio Workout for you! They have an audio-described 30 minute cardio workout, which you can download the audio file and transcript here: Cardio Level Two

The Body Coach
Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, is a YouTube sensation! He's worked for years to get people active from their homes, gardens and in public spaces - using minimal equipment. Whilst his work outs are not audio described, he does explain each movement as he goes through his workouts. These may not be accessible for those with severe sight loss, but take a look and let us know how you find them!
You can visit The Body Coach YouTube page by clicking here.
We hope you enjoy these accessible workouts and continue to stay active and healthy whilst at home. Whilst we are happy and excited to bring you new activities via virtual delivery, we are a charitable organisation and would appreciate any donations you can make to allow us to keep providing this content for free.
