Fundraising

There’s much more to fundraising than holding a collection tin. It’s fun, rewarding and an opportunity to meet new people. British Blind Sport is always looking for volunteers to help us with our fundraising efforts, could you spare some time to help us? Contact fundraising@britishblindsport.org.uk to find out how.

Administration

As a small team, we rely on the support of our volunteers in our Warwickshire based office and these kind individuals are integral to the smooth running of the organisation. If you are confident with updating records, using a computer, contacting our members and performing general office support, we would love to hear from you. Contact info@britishblindsport.org.uk.

Sporting Events

Each year British Blind Sport run a number of sports events throughout the UK. These events are only made possible by the support of our volunteers who kindly donate their time to help us with our work. If you enjoy volunteering on an occasional basis, with an exciting opportunity to do something different each time you volunteer, we have a role to suit you!  We need helpful, friendly volunteers who can support us in activities such as sighted guiding, signposting to activities and delivering sport. To find out more about events and opportunities near you, contact sportdevelopment@britishblindsport.org.uk.

Marketing and Promotion

British Blind Sport provide a dedicated service to visually impaired people throughout the UK, we just need more people to know about the great work we do! If you are a creative and enthusiastic volunteer with an interest in photography, marketing promotion or social media, you could help support our team and promote the services we run. To discuss this opportunity further, email support@britishblindsport.org.uk.

Sight Classification

BBS offers sight classifications as part of our membership package. We're recruiting qualified optometrists or ophthalmologists to assist in the processing and provision of recreational sight classifications, allowing our members to compete and play sport at nationally recognised events and competitions. We are looking for a pool of classifiers, so please get in touch at any time if you feel your expertise and time could make a difference. For more information, email info@britishblindsport.org.uk or call our office on 01926 424247.

Education and Training

British Blind Sport understands the importance of sharing knowledge and best practice with our wider partners to support VI sport and physical activity. We also understand that many people actively involved in making a visible difference in sport have expertise that will help others develop and grow. To this end, we are seeking volunteers in a number of aspects related to education and training. For more information, visit https://britishblindsport.org.uk/educationandresearch/education/ or email info@britishblindsport.org.uk.
