The Big Blind Walk
Starting on Sunday 29th April 2018, Julian Jackson is embarking on the Big Blind Walk walking approximately 1,000 miles through Great Britain. Starting at Land’s End (Cornwall) and finishing at John O’Groats (Scotland) sometime around 22nd June, taking approximately 7 weeks to complete this challenge.
In 2010 Julian tandem cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End and this time will be getting even more close up and personal with the different terrains, environments and communities throughout the country and encourage others, sighted and visually impaired to join him on this adventure.
Where you come in!
Along the route Julian will be accompanied and guided by friends and colleagues, as well as members of the public, voluntary sector representatives and patient support groups, researchers, eye health and health care professionals. He will be visiting eye clinics, eye hospitals and community centres along the route, sharing experiences with patients and practitioners and promoting the wonders of eye research!
We want to encourage as many people as possible to get out and walking in support. If you think you can accompany Julian, take a look at the route and find out when Julian will be walking near you! Link to follow the route and tracker
