BBS Have a Go Days

British Blind Sport Have A Go Days

BBS Have A Go Days are multi-sport taster events that have been held successfully across the country since 2016, supporting blind and partially sighted people of all ages and abilities to get active. Sports such as football, tennis, rugby, futsal, goalball, swimming, guide running and other free activities are available at the events. The days are always very popular and receive great feedback. BBS encourages everyone, no matter their previous experience in sport, to come along.

For more information on our Have A Go Days or to register your interest in these opportunities, please email participation@britishblindsport.org.uk or call 01926 424247.

BBS is also running First Steps Family Days alongside each Have A Go Day. First Steps is a national project, funded by Children in Need, and helps young people with sight loss get more active by improving their motor skills and building confidence in their abilities. The First Steps Family Days allow young people with sight loss from aged 3-11yrs to try out locally available sports and meet other young people with sight loss. Young people taking part will be welcomed into an introductory session and then join in the wider activities available at each Have A Go Day. For more information, please email firststeps@britishblindsport.org.uk or call 01926 424247.

What Participants Say

British Blind Sport - Northampton 0275_

''I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you, your colleagues and the sports teachers who organised the Have A Go Day. It was so well ran and everyone was very positive. My child had great fun and I think it helped his confidence.''

Participant, Have a Go Day Northampton 2021

"I attended this sports day event over the weekend and it was a great event, well organised and a great opportunity to meet new people. The coaches were amazing and made it fun! It was very inclusive and diverse, so friendly and for all ages. The event was great for me because I don’t know any person that is visually impaired. It was a great day and I think I will join the cricket group!"
